I’m sitting here trying to find the words to describe 2016.
Life-changing.
Healing.
Forgiving.
Hey look! I found words. 🙂
—
At the beginning of this year, I was a little lost.
I was in a dark place.
I was starting to think that I would never get out of it.
So, I finally did something I had not done in ages.
I decided it was time to do something for me.
On January 23, I took my first step into the office of Speak Your Silence.
[Funny how the thing I did for myself was, in the end, helping others.]
I kid you not, on that first day, “I forgot to soak my beans!” were words that I thought I was saying silently in my mind, but really came out like word vomit.
Why someone would want me back after that, I will never know. 😉
But I was asked to help again.
And again.
And again.
And I am so incredibly thankful for that. 🙂
I started sharing my story with certain individuals.
I was asked to share my story with larger groups.
And it was all so worth it.
The healing I gained from sharing my story cannot compare to the joy that I feel when others tell me their story.
There’s so much more that happened, and didn’t happen, this year.
But nothing beats realizing that I have a story worth telling.
And so do you, no matter how broken you are.
Here’s to 2017, and living a story worth telling.
You are loved. 🙂
P.S.Just in case you have not seen this video, here you go! Definitely a highlight of 2016. 🙂
